The first edition of the Universe Cards by Kay Stopforth was published by Thorsons in 1999. Despite it's success, Kay was never fully satisfied with the visual aspect of the deck which, for the most part, featured photographs from the Hubble Space Telescope. Following the completion of the Quantum Tarot, Kay approached me to illustrate a new version of the Universe Cards. The Hubble Images remain but as with the Quantum Tarot we've used them as a starting point for a more fantasy based approach. These images represent one of the most enjoyable projects I've ever worked on.
